Pangapisan North is known for its’ famous “bagoong” or fish paste, and now, for the first time ever; we will be having our Bagoong Festival here in our barangay. This will include street dancing competition, bagoong dance competition and a beauty pageant to showcase the beauty of our ladies here in Pangapisan.

As one of the pioneers in bagoong making here in our place, we were asked to join by the organizers of our fiesta to join the said street dance and bagoong dance competition. And now, we are really busy since the competition is fast approaching. The members of our team are composed of the children of workers and the workers themselves since it is one of the mechanics of the competition. It is very difficult for us to practice our dance routines because we live a very busy life; we only have time to practice at night when everyone has finished their work. Right now we are almost done with our costumes and our team is very excited about it. We have to practice at least 4 hours every night till dawn. Yes it is not easy, but we all enjoy the company of one another. We aim to get the first price for this competition and we are really hoping that every participant will play fair.  My wife and I just bought props for our dancers like fans, umbrellas, skirts and clothes. We have a very colorful motif that is really pleasing to the eyes. We also came up with some yells to be shouted at the competition proper and it’s all about our product.

It really is enjoyable to have this kind of event because everyone here in our barangay has the chance to participate and also a chance to win big prices. We hope that our next generations will continue to have this fiesta celebrated every year for them to know the essence of being a Pangapisanian.

Summer is the best time to relax and unwind. It is my favorite season of the year.  As of now we are experiencing extreme hotness from the sun that’s why this is also the time to go to places where in we can swim and keep our body cool.  It is also the time to spend quality time with our family and friends, doing activities that can make all of you happy and enjoy each other’s company.

There are a lot of things to do this summer. You can choose from different activities to do like swimming at the beach or on the pool. You can also do mountain climbing and do camping afterwards. You can also try picnics, cook some foods that are your favorites and share it with your friends. Summer is also the time to have your class reunion, isn’t it so nice to get together again after many years, it will surely make everyone glad. It is also the perfect time to go out of town or country to have new environment to enjoy too. But if you want to make it simple, which I preferred it to be, you can just stay home and have some movie marathon with your family, friends or even with your special someone, in that way you can really have quality time with them without spending that much.

What does Glutathione do in our body?  Formulations that contain Vitamin C and other antioxidants like Alpha Lipoic Acid and grape seed extract may result in fairer and healthier skin.  It also helps delay skin aging and lightens skin complexion but the primary job of Glutathione is to dispose waste and toxins in the body.

FIT AND FAB THIS SUMMER

We all want a good health and stay fit this summer season. Some people find it hard to become fit and healthy here are some tips to remember to be fit and fab this summer:

  1. Get enough sleep

Sleep 8 hours a day will give your body enough time to rest and rejuvenate for another day’s of work. Lack of sleep will cause laziness, weight gain and ugly look for you.

  1. Exercise Regularly

Daily exercise will help you lose fat and preserve muscle, improve your bone density and lower your risk of heart diseases, high blood pressure and colon cancer. Jogging and running about 15 minutes definitely will keep you in shape. It will keep your muscles strong and fit. Exercise does not only burn fat and give you a dazzling figure it also helps drive away negative energies from your system. It doesn’t necessary to enroll in a fitness center all you need is the discipline to exercise on your own perhaps do some laps around the neighborhood or go stretching those limbs inside your bedroom.

3. Eating the right food

You are what you eat. What you eat is reflected to yourself. If you are eating well as consuming large stacks of steaks or only French fries don’t be surprised to see a figure similar to the pork you love to eat. Instead, eat lots of veggies and fruits and drink plenty of water, these are guaranteed to make you feel light. Studies show that dark green leafy vegetables are also high in antioxidants. Antioxidants prevent or repair cell damaged and get rid of carcinogens.

  1. Smile and Laugh

Everybody wants to be around a person who is always happy, this perhaps one of the most common yet frequently forgotten advice to look and feel good. Putting on a smile all the time reduces stress and would prevent your body from producing bad hormones.

Prevent Varicose Veins

Those blue and bulging veins, which usually appear in the legs, can take the pleasure out of wearing skirts and shorts.  Varicose veins result when tiny one-way valves in our vessels allow the blood to seep backwards.  Generally varicose veins are a cosmetic problem rather than a health threat.  In some cases they cause pain and ulcers.  You may have the risk of developing varicose veins if you find a history in your family.  You may check your parent’s hands and legs.  Varicose veins may be hereditary because it means a weakness in the development of your veins.  If you are obese and you lead a sedentary lifestyle with hardly any exercise.  As a result, your muscle can’t efficiently help the veins pump blood back to the heart.  You strain your calves and legs during bowel movement and if you are pregnant.  Because pregnant women experience hormonal changes during pregnancy.

How to prevent having varicose veins:

1. Take a break from standing.  But don’t sit too long either.

2.  Invest in a good pair of stockings.  These stockings compress the vessels and promote blood flow.

3.. When you get home, kick off those heels and put your feet up to increase blood flow from the legs.

4.  Exercise those extremities.

Ankle pump- Flex foot up and down as if you are moving a piano pedal.

Ankle circles- Rotate feet clockwise and counterclockwise.

Heel slips- Bend your knees and then slide heels back and forth one at a time.

Taken fresh or in capsules, garlic is recommended naturopathists to prevent clots.  People with high fiber diets rarely have varicose veins.  Fiber eases bowel  movement, which lessens strain on your knees, calves and legs.

To calm swollen veins, apply cold compress or ice pack;  hot tubs, heating pads and saunas may worsen them.

Getting adequate selenium in your diet or from your multivitamin could help you and everyone around you stay healthier this cold-and-flu-season.  In lab studies, researchers at the University of North Carolina found that when viruses pass through bodies deficient in selenium, they can mutate into more damaging forms.  Nutritional deficiencies can help transform a virus into something more dangerous, something that can infect even those with a healthy diet according to researchers.  Earlier studies have shown the same danger with a vitamin E deficiency.  Eat a balance diet and take a multivitamin  and there’s no need to take megadoses.

Makeup For Less Sleep

As a sales agent I must always look presentable and appealing to others especially to clients.  Having a pleasing personality comprises always to look good even I don’t have enough sleep.  The good thing about make up is that they can hide imperfections in my face and there are some regimens that I always do whenever I had a problem like this. Whenever I’m puyat and have a meeting tomorrow, here’s how I still look fresh and ready for the big meeting Before putting my make up for  my tired eyes, I used cool cucumber toner.  Here’s how to do it: soak some cotton balls in the toner then put it in the freezer for a few minutes.  Be sure not to use products with alcohol content as these will irritate the eyes.  For my swollen and dehydrated face, I moisturize using products like green tea extract serum will help take out the puffiness and make my skin glow due to caffeine content.  I always want my makeup light but lots of color.  I only used a cream blush because it is great and easy to apply on the apple of my cheeks.  I only add lipgloss in a light, cherry color and I’m now awake!

With a little bit of help and care in the morning, you can look fresh and ready to go!

Bring Out The Best On You

Sometimes we need some changes.  You may already have what it takes and you only need little help to maximize your assets.  Don’t worry because it is not expensive to change your look to be noticed at work.  You can do it by just simply making yourself more visible.  Get noticed by your boss or employer, your clients, and people in your industry.  Be a regular customer at the restaurant where you usually have your business lunches.  Attend industry events, in that way you can develop your network of contacts.  Develop a referral system so that you can refer people or have them drop your name at these organizations or events.  Involve yourself in local charities and community activities so you can meet prospective contacts and at the same time make yourself an asset.

Set up your wardrobe.  You can just have two outfits to get noticed.  One should be in a dark mutual color.  A black dress can take you anywhere.  Pick a classic tailored outfit that can take you from a luncheon meeting to cocktail party with style, just dress it up or down with accessories.  The other must have in your wardrobe would be a colorful and fun dress for casual lunches and weekend events.  Pull your outfit together with the right posture that signals confidence and attitude.  Stand up straight, roll your shoulders back, chest out and tuck your hips under.

Appetite thrill

Loosing control over a plate of chocolate cake, you may need more good times, not more willpower.  A new study suggests that dopamine, a neurochemical that help regulate mood and appetite, may be deficient in obese people, leading them to overeat to boost their spirits.

Researchers aren’t sure if overeaters are born with fewer dopamine receptors, or if bingeing eventually cause the brain to tone down its response to food.  Luckily, you can boost dopamine in other ways besides eating-by exercising, even riding roller coasters, study says.  Instead of dining out with your spouse, take a walk together, your exercising, taming your appetite, and building your relationship all at once.

Veggies extreme

Talking about veggies.  One of the most problematic of  maintaining a diet devoid of meat )and eggs, milk, and animal products as your preference should dictate) is keeping your pantry properly stocked. There is, almost always, the issue about how much fresh produce to purchase at a single time.

The life of the vegetarian-eater and cook can be quite tedious sometimes.  The difficulty extends even to outside the home.  Like, let’s say, at parties.  What does one say to the gracious hostess who was not able to include any vegetarian dish in spread buffet.
